Kantarawaddy Times is an independent news organization that provides news related to Karenni people, Burma and the SPDC government to the people of Burma through a newspaper, email news releases, radio and website. The group, believe in providing fair and balanced news that gives their community a voice and promote democracy. The organization was founded on October 2, 2004 by Karenni young journalists who have finished one year course from journalism schooling in Chiang Mai, Thailand which run by Internews, a Thai based non-governmental organization in collaboration with some youths who have been working in the field of news.
